The Electrical Safety Foundation (ESFI) is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a FY2011 Fire Prevention and Safety (FP&S) Grant from the Department of Homeland Security, Federal Emergency Management Agency (DHS/FEMA). This is ESFI’s fourth consecutive FP&S award and the largest award amount to-date.
FP&S Grants are awarded annually to support projects that enhance the safety of the public and firefighters from fire and related hazards. The primary goal is to target high-risk populations in order to reduce injuries and prevent deaths.
ESFI will utilize the grant funds to create additional components for the acclaimed Investigate with P.I. Plug children’s fire and electrical safety awareness program and also to develop new awareness resources for older adults, another high-risk demographic.
