Electron

The electron, discovered by JJ Thomson in 1897, is a negative charged sub-atomic particle that orbits the nucleus of an atom and is held in orbit by attraction to the positive charge of the nucleus. The atomic particles orbiting the nucleus of an atom moves from the atom in a conductor creating the electrical current. It is lighter in weight than a proton or neutron.
